TBC Discovery Mentoring Time

As I mentioned before TBC is a Purpose Driven Church which means that training is offered for all members with four basic classes. 101, 201, 301, and 401. I work with the 301 team. The 301 class teaches members about themselves using the acronym SHAPE. This stands for Spiritual Gifts. Heart. Abilities. Personality and Experiences. The whole class takes about four hours then we arrange a “Discovery Meeting” which is a one-on-one time to help the church member confirm their findings and see how this understanding helps them better serve in the live of the Church.In this picture, on the left you see Sonny, one of the team members. After a recent 301 class Sonny observed me do a discovery meeting. This time Sonny is doing the discovery time with me observing. The church member is Oswald from Malaysia. Next time Sonny will be doing the process by himself. Mentoring people into ministry is part of my work at TBC

While Daddy was in Auckland he was able to visit with my Aunt, his sister Liz (Elizabeth) and her husband Peter. Seeing them was such a blessing as he had not met up with them in seven years!
Through God’s leading they moved to NZ last year and live a short 3 min walk from Uncle Roger and Auntie Maureen who have been in NZ for many years.
My Aunt is a trained nurse and my Uncle worked as a porter. Please pray for them as they adjust to a new country and lifestyle, like having Christmas in the summer!
They are both amazing people who I am so proud to call my Uncle and Aunt =)Sarah Somers-Harris
