A child who needs our love and prayers

A child who needs our love and prayers

There are children and adults on the streets around the world who are being forced to sell their bodies for sex.  I want to run to where they are, scoop them up in my arms, whisk them away to  a safe place and take care of them.   :(   There are others in Tokyo who feel the same way as I do.  All of us have heard about these things through a YWAM ministry called A Voice for the Voiceless (V4VL).  We are working together to bring the V4VL team here the end of October to speak in different churches, schools, and home meetings so that more will know, more will pray, and more will do something about this.  One friend, a classical pianist, has gathered several classical musician friends to put on a charity concert to raise money for Voice for the Voiceless projects.  We are all busy planning, communicating, coordinating, and preparing. Please pray for us and the V4VL team coming in from Kona, Hawaii Oct. 21 through 26.  If you are in the Tokyo area, try to attend one of the events to learn more and buy tickets for the concert. Thank you.

ClinicThis is the location of the newly opened Garden Clinic in Hiroo.  Dr. Chin Huai Keong is a long time friend of our family and has worked here in Japan for many years in the medical profession as a dermatologist.

This week we had a dedication ceremony for the new clinic she had opened.  I was asked to be the MC and Pastor Dennis having just returned from a trip to the US was able to be there to give a prayer of dedicationChin-Huai.

In this picture you can see Chin-Huai’s husband, Yohan, their oldest boy, William (who used to be in the High School boys small group with David and Jonathan before going to university), me in the middle and Pastor Dennis next to me with Dr. Chin-Huai on the right.

The clinic was crowded with friends and there was only standing room.  It was a wonderful time enjoyed by all.

For those in Tokyo who may be interested in seeking out Dr. Keong’s services, (both in English and Japanese) the address ,  phone number and web page  are:

7-14-7 2F, Minami Aoyama, Minato Ku, Tokyo (along Nisseki-dori, near the Japanese Red Cross Medical Center)

SnakeHere I was just riding my bike along the road to the post office when there on the road just sitting in the sun was this very dangerous looking snake.  Fortunately it was not on a lunch break, so after looking at me for a bit is slid off into the undergrowth at the side of the road.

This was the second time in a few days that I had seen such a dangerous looking snake and I thought Japan was supposed to be such a safe country.  I tell you this missionary life can be scary sometimes.

CatIf that were not bad enough, just today my girls spotted this lethal looking dinosaur wannabe crawling around in our back yard.  I tell you I think it is a jolly good job we are moving next month to a much safer part of the Tokyo jungle.  I am almost too scared to go out at nights alone now.  Just in case your getting real worried about us life isn’t all bad all the time I have to go out to McDonald’s soon and enjoy one of their special burgers of the month, that is if I can avoid the lethal looking dinosaur wannabes and the dangerous looking snakes……….
